Who is God?

 

God is the creator of all things. Think about this:  if you were to go back and think about the universe, you have to realize, there had to be a beginning.

What is called in science and theology,  a First Cause.  Something or someone had to make the big bang happen. All things came from nothing.

So, if you would, for example, believe one of the latest theories of some scientists, they say a meteor with life on it, crashed on earth and seeded the planet, starting life here. This is a way to explain how life started out of nothing.

 

But, we can simply ask the next question, how did that life get started that was on the meteor? If from another planet, then where did that life start from? And so on, and so on, until what? A first cause. There has to be a point, where the buck stops. Even if you ask where God came from, then ok, if He came from a place, who made that place? So, see, there has to be an original being that overrides all logic.  He is known, generally, as God. He is the creator.

 

What is God’s relationship to me?

After He created all things, He chose to make a creation that would be in His own image. He wanted them to have a relationship with Him, so He made Adam and Eve and placed them in a garden He made for them to enjoy.

 

God, not wanting them to be like robots, or like an animal, gave them free will, and gave them one rule to follow, so they could choose to love and obey Him or not.  Sad to say, they chose to do their own will, and not God’s.

 

So, their relationship with God was reduced from walking and talking with Him, and living in a perfect paradise, to being in a hostile world, full of weeds and disease and sin. The way we find how the world is today. So, the answer to the question is, we as children of Adam and Eve, have a broken relationship with God.  We cannot get into the Garden of Eden. We are forced to be out in this world which is fallen, like Adam and Eve did. We can call out to God, but He has closed the door. Our sin has blocked us.

 

What can I do to change the state mankind is living in?

You cannot do anything to get God to change His will.  But He can. The first thing you need to know is: You must know, you can do nothing to save yourself. The Lord sees all our deeds as filthy rags.  We cannot earn His love or forgiveness of our sin.

 

So, God can do something?

Yes He can, and did do something for all of mankind, and for you. If you're reading this, it is His doing that got you here! God is God, and He can cause you to do things, without you even knowing it is Him. He is all powerful and all knowing, and is everywhere. He knew at the beginning of time, that you would be reading this today. He caused me to write this. He caused you to read this. He will cause you to hear in your heart, that this is HIStory His true story. His story..

 

So, what is His way for me?

Well, He made ONE way for all us humans to get “back to the Garden.” To know Him, like Adam did. To have a spirit that is “alive” and full of God’s love and thoughts. All religion tells you the way to God is by doing some works. For example, you may be told if you learn some secret info, it will give you the knowledge of God, thereby making a way for you to enter His Kingdom. Most religions will tell you THEY ARE THE WAY to God. Without them, the group or church, you cannot get to God.

 

But the Lord made a way for us. It is not a 12-step program or an activity for you to do.  It is what the bible calls the second Adam.  He is called in English Jesus Christ. So, the Way is not a place but a person. Jesus Christ said in John 14:6: I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life; NO man comes to the Father but BY ME.

Jesus said also these most famous words; For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son; whosoever (anybody) shall believe in Him (Jesus), shall NOT perish, but have everlasting life! John 3:16

 

The bible also says; God commands ALL men everywhere to REPENT. Acts 17:30.

 

What does it mean to repent?

Repent means these steps:

Tell the Lord you know in your heart, that His words are true. You know you are a sinner, like all people, and you are separated from Him. Tell Him you want to know Him. Tell Him you know He died for you. The Bible says, The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord! Romans 6:23  Tell Jesus, you know He died in your place for your sin. Ask Him to forgive you and save you. Invite Him into your heart. Not only to save you, but to be your LORD.  Ask Him to lead you into the right paths. Psalm 23.

 

Then Turn from your old ways, turn to following Him!  Find a Bible, read starting with Matthew and read forward.  Find a Bible believing Church.

 

How to find a good church?

Do what I did when I was new. Read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and the Book of Acts. Then find a church that is like what you read about in Acts.

 

We want Church of the First Born to be like the Book of Acts!
